How do you end a task forever?
- Press "Ctrl-Shift-Esc" to open the Task Manager.
- Click the "Processes" tab.
- Right-click any active process and select "End Process."
- Click "End Process" again in the confirmation window. Some processes, such as vital Windows processes, cannot be ended this way.
Just press the CTRL + Alt + Delete buttons simultaneously. Select Task Manager when the menu opens. Processes can be stopped by simply opening Task Manager, clicking on the Process tab and clicking on a process you want to stop. Then hit the big End Task button in the bottom right corner.
A basic troubleshooting step when programs freeze up is pressing Alt + F4. This is the Windows keyboard shortcut for closing the current process, equivalent to clicking the X icon in the upper-right corner of a window.
In Task Manager, scroll through the list of running processes that are shown in the Process tab of the interface. Click on the process that you want to stop and then click on the End task button at the bottom-right of the interface.
Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and select Task Manager or Ctrl + Shift + Esc to bring Task Manager up directly. Select the application you're trying to close and click End task.
Putting off something that needs to be done is called procrastination. We all do it sometimes. But if you constantly struggle to finish tasks, there may be a bigger problem at play. Once you figure out your reasons, you can work on making the most of your time.

As we've established above, it is recommended to force stop an app only when it is malfunctioning. If you need to save battery power (particularly on Android), closing an app the regular way would suffice. Force stopping apps yield little or next to no battery-saving result.

Try Using ALT + F4
As an alternative to using the task manager to kill a program, you can try holding down the “ALT” key and the F4 function key at the same time. “ALT + F4” sends a polite request to close a program and will give the program time to respond.
You would first type in the command like your normally would. For example, to forcefully kill notepad.exe, you would type in taskkill /IM notepad.exe . Add /F to the end of the command. The "/F" argument tells taskkill that you want to forcefully end the process.
